campaign wins Emmy® for community outreach

Award honors excellence in television for marshaling support for a worthy community cause.

Idaho Public Television’s Welcome to the Unaltered State won the prestigious Community Outreach Emmy® at the 62 Annual NW National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences award ceremony in Seattle, June 7th.

The award is given by the NATAS NW Board of Governors to honor excellence performed by a television or allied media entity whose primary mission is producing television or video content (news or non-news) recognizing an effort to focus interest on and marshal support for a worthy community cause or causes.

The Community Outreach Emmy® award recognizes key players in the campaign launch including IdahoPTV general manager, Jeff Tucker; campaign manager, Jennie Sue Weltner; former IdahoPTV production assistant Austin Henderson; IdahoPTV multimedia specialist Ben Weaver (pictured); and Tom Hadzor, Bill Krumm and Alex Hon of WideEye Productions.

This the second year that Idaho Public Television has won the Community Outreach Emmy®. IdahoPTV won the award in 2024 for the KNOW VAPE campaign, a statewide awareness campaign designed to warn parents, teens and educators about the dangers of youth vaping.

The Community Outreach Emmy® was presented to representatives of Idaho Public Television at the 62nd Annual NW NATAS Emmy Award ceremony on June 7th in Seattle, WA.
